The Koforidua Technical University as part of its annual SRC week celebrations, sets aside a day for current students who deem themselves as strong, muscular and physically developed sports men and women to participate in a weight lifting competition, embedded within are various stages dubbed “KTU-STRONGEST”. This year’s edition was held on Thursday July 8, 2021 at the ceremonial grounds on campus.

The day was trilled with an action-packed event where Boys were separated from the Men. A designated team from Adonko Next Level(Angel Group Of Companies Limited), and Starr Fm were the head-line sponsors of the event. Other indigenous small scale enterprises also come to support the event with their various products.

Mustapha Arhin alias Mayweather of Ghana’s Strongest fame was the official appointed to administer the competition.

A total of about nine qualified participants believed and were sure of their conscience of picking the top spot at the end of the competition. But quit unfortunately, five withdrew their participation as a result of certain misunderstanding that had taken place during the competition between the match officials and the athletes.

Despite these disturbances, the competition took a pause and resumed within few minutes with only four competitors left in the title race.

Various weights of dumbbell, Tyre rolling and pushing of a 4×4 vehicle were some of the stages each athlete had to finish successfully to emerge winner and the new champion.

At the end of the show, Edem came tops winning with 120 points.

Second position went to Twumesi

Prosper then followed booking his place at the third spot.

Finally, fourth place went to Mark.

All four athletes were awarded medals and cash prices with the ultimate winner taking home a carton of Adonko Text Level Energy Drink.
