The Ghanaian International and the former Barcelona attacker has disclosed his soft-hearted side towards the demise of about eight juvenile footballers who were involved in a road accident. The accident involved players and officials of Colt’s Football Club, Vision Academy who were traveling back to Offinso after a registration exercise at Afrancho in Kumasi the Ashanti Regional Capital. The sudden incident shook the Ghana Football Association, country and the and the football world. People from all walks of life both in Ghana and Abroad sent their condolences including the acting Fifa President to the families who lost they’re loved once.

After weeks when the news broke out, K.P Boateng on Monday, September 28, 2020, was on an exclusive interview with Joy Sport presenter Gary-Al Smith where he poured out his heart making it clear that he was touched by the news and has volunteered to extend a helping hand to the bereaved families. When he was asked as to how he got to hear about the news since he was not in Ghana, he said he heard about the news on social media, he tried to make his own background checks to verify the authenticity of the news, it was rather unfortunate his feedback turned out the news was real. “I heard about it and it really made me sad. I first saw it on Social Media and I called a friend to find out if it was true. ” He said he felt so touched by the sudden news and has decided to help the families in any means possible as a pain killer to the affected families.

“Like I said I head it on the news and that is why I am here, I want to help. Anything that is necessary, I want to help. I want to get in touch with the families. I want to give them the necessary support to feel free. I know it’s hard, and I know how hard it is for parents to bury their children,” Kevin added.

Gary-Al Smith also congratulated K.P Boateng after he signed a new deal with Serie B club AC Monza from Fiorentina.

The other teenagers who were involved in the accident have all been discharged from the hospital and are under home management.
