All across the world, Radio and TV presenters flew all the way to the UK to have a live feel of the beautiful music award. Notable among them is Sammy Flexx of Zylofone Fm, Doreen Avio of Joy Entertainment and many other prominent presenters and as well bloggers were present and the event grounds to support and keep their fans updated.

Even though most of us couldn’t make it to the live event, www.mcbondnews.com got updates, below are the various categories and their various winners.

Starting from the top:

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The lifetime achievement of the year award went to EBO TAYLOR & OSIBISA. A clear and well deserved award won by these two musical giants who have trilled our days of music for a very long time with good sounds.

2. AFRICAN ARTISTE OF THE YEAR

The award for the African Artist of the year went to the Tanzanian music maker, a man filled with the spirit of doing good music. No other person than DIAMOND PLATINUM. Beating his competitors from Nigeria, South Africa and other parts of the African continent to win this one for himself and for Tanzania.

3. TRADITIONAL / CULTURAL ACT OF THE YEAR

Clinching this honor was the one and only know to be the Lioness of Africa. A woman who holds indigenous Ghanaian songs and culture in her lyrical composure. WIYAALA, flying the colors of Ghana on international stages and pushing the rich Ghanaian culture to places through her music. A well deserved win for personality.

4. SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR

This category erupted to be one of the toughest categories for this years edition. Not only did it look that challenging but everyone who found him/herself in this spot looked a potential winner. But at the end, the former OGB MUSIC signee FAMEYE crossed the finished line undoubtedly winning in this particular cat.

5. UNCOVERED ARTISTE OF THE YEAR

Few days after announcing the release of her first debut EP, having recorded and shot videos with the African Dancehall King, she is highly motivated. The winner of this cat has barely been in the Ghanaian industry for more than two year, but her fanbase has grown to a level that her presence is felt almost everywhere. Not only because she is beautiful, sexy, cute and good looking, but her voice on a song kills it for many, the quality in sound and the videos she puts out has gotten her this far. MONA4REAL emerged winner.

6. HIPLIFE/HIP POP SONG OF THE YEAR

If you’re a fan of hiplife and hip pop, then the winner in this category is definitely one that you love. A young artiste filled with lyrical punches won for his fans and himself the award and as well blessed the stage with some good performance leaving audience no option than to stand, take videos and enjoy his performance. AMG MEDIKAL took over this award and claimed it with honor.

7. REGGEA DANCEHALL ARTIST OF THE YEAR

A category that has always been competitive irrespective of the type of award. A category that holds memories in the minds of many who have appreciated music and performance within and without the shores of Ghana. Even though many had tipped Epixode as a favorite for this one, it was snatched by an artiste who also worked far enough to deservedly win this one. He is the Bhim president, the top skanka and the dancehall sapachini STONEBWOYE.

8. REGGAE / DANCEHALL SONG OF THE YEAR

There has never been smoke without fire, and there will never be fire without smoke. This attributes are metered out not basically to the artistes involved within this category but the rivalry that exist between their fanbases. The African Dancehall King or better still 1DON as he is called couldn’t have stayed without winning anything for the night. Once the fans of Stonebwoye knew he had won in a category, the Shatta Movements were looking forward to seeing their war leader win something for the night and of course SHATTA WALE won with 1DON.
